There is a typical model for the cool summer that occurs in Japan.





When a cold summer occurs in Japan, it becomes an atmospheric pressure arrangement like this illustration.
Then Okhotsk high pressure develops.
As a result, a cold damp east wind blows to the Tohoku region etc.
The atmospheric pressure arrangement like this figure lasts for several weeks or more.

In Japan, I call that cold wet east wind Yamase.
It will be extremely cool summer. So it remains in the old record.

In other words, it means that some state of westerlies of hundreds of years ago remains.
Not all the records of past westerlies remain. But some clear evidence remains. It is a precious record worldwide.


There was a year when Yamase occurred during the period when the weather of pattern A and pattern B mentioned earlier was bad.
In other words, Pattern A and Pattern B mean that it was caused by the influence of the Westerlies.

Why do Pattern A and Pattern B occur?
We can explain the mystery with the following figure.


The Westerlies has fluctuated over several years just before the large cycle starts to rise and immediately before it turns into descent.
The fluctuation of the large period of the sun coincides with the large fluctuation of the Westerlies.
It should be considered that the Westerlies is also fluctuating due to fluctuation of solar activity.

Extreme things were happening. The westerlies was meandering for several years. But it is evidence.
It is clear evidence.

In 1906, the Ministry of Education of Japan ordered Prof. Seki Toyotaro to investigate the extremely cool summer occasionally occurring in Tohoku district.
